Forging Brotherhood Through Sports

Beta Upsilon has enjoyed some great bonding and brotherhood opportunities by gathering to watch February’s biggest sporting events: Super Bowl LIX and the Four Nations Hockey Championship. For the Super Bowl, we rented out Joe’s Brewery for the game and catered in some wings. At halftime we went back to the house as a group to watch the second half. While the game was never close, it was still a great bonding experience. Dozens of Delts gathered in the Ferris Room to watch USA vs. Canada in the The Four Nations Championship. Our comradery as a chapter and pride for our country was evident. In spite of their recent slump, we hope to come together again soon to watch our Illini men’s basketball team make a deep run in the NCAA tournament.

Get to Know the Current President & Vice-Presidents
Last November, the chapter held new officer elections. We are grateful to have great members in these positions. Our current president is Cole Dochoff ‘27, internal president is Brian Williams ‘27, and external president is Charlie Specht ‘27.5.
Cole Dochoff

Cole is from Elmhurst, Illinois, and went to York Community High School. He is a finance and data science major at the Gies College of Business and enjoys working out and spending time with the guys, where he has been able to make some great memories. Cole noted one of such memories was 2024 chapter formal in Windsor, Canada. Cole says he chose to run for president because this house is something he cares about and has become a big part of his life; he believes this was a great opportunity for him to give back to his friends and leave a legacy on the house.
Brian Williams

Brian is from the Hinsdale, Illinois and is majoring in accounting and finance. He recently picked up rock climbing at the arc where he and some of the other guys go to take a break from their studies. He served as brotherhood chair before becoming VP and some of his fondest memories were setting up events as simple as a fire outside and catching up with others. He felt that he could lead the house well, and he was able to listen to people’s opinions and do his best to implement them.
Charlie Specht

Charlie is also from Elmhurst, IL, and is majoring in political science. He is a big music fan and listens to some during everything he does. He remembers the first week back on campus during the fall semester to be his best because he was able to bond with the guys and not have the stress of schoolwork or classes. He was very passionate about being a part of the executive board and having a role in the house, as he didn’t think there needed to be change; there just needed to be more effort, and that is where he saw himself being able to help improve the house.
