At the end of September, our chapter had the opportunity to host 2016 alumnus and famous DJ John Summit while he was in town to kick off his first-ever arena tour. For a chapter that takes pride in the connections made within these walls, it was a special moment to welcome back someone who once lived the same house life we do today.
After it was announced that Champaign would be the first stop on his upcoming tour, we all speculated that John might come by the house and see what had changed since his time here. Thanks to the hard work of our President, Henry Stach, that speculation turned into reality. John and his team joined us the day before his concert to hang out and meet some of the guys. It was a rare chance for current members to hear from an alumnus who has gone on to such a high level of success, and to share a little of what the house looks like today.
He was also kind enough to play a short set in our newly revamped party room, which made the visit even more memorable. As if that were not enough, he surprised us at the end of the night with free tickets to his concert for the whole house.
Overall, those two days were a great experience for our chapter. For such a huge celebrity to come back to where it all started really showcased the brotherhood that has been built over the years, and we are grateful to John and his team for their time and generosity.
